Um, excuse me?
Someone in charge?
What's going on here?
Is this Karma for feeling smug about enjoying spring blooms while my friends in the Northeast and Midwest are enduring ice storms?
It's still almost April, right?
Do you remember these guys?
Oh I was such a proud Mama when they started popping up from their warm little beds.
And this little daisy thought it was spring. Oh yeah, that's right, it is.
So my aforementioned friends are smirking at me now, I know you are.
But this is crazy.
The only sun looking over my garden today is this guy (in the background).
My feet actually crunched in this. Crunched! Like they do in snow. Imagine that.
It's still coming down. In the time it took my fingers to thaw enough to type, and to get these photos uploaded, the little daisy has disappeared in the blanket. So, geek that I am, I ran outside to get one last shot of him.
Peeking outside my window I see everything disappearing even more under the magical little wonderland of whiteness.
I had very good intentions of going out to run errands and do some much needed grocery shopping this afternoon. But as anyone around here knows, we in the Pacific Northwest are forbidden by law to drive in the snow unless it's a life-or-death emergency, as we are all complete idiots when it comes to inclement-weather-driving. Alright maybe it's only an unwritten law. Still. If this goes on much longer people will start abandoning their cars on the freeway and other weird stuff like that (no, really, they do that here).
The good news for all the sprouting little plants is that it IS spring in the Pacific Northwest, and nothing weather related, even a beautiful little blanket of snow, lasts for very long.
So, for now, I will hole up as a good Seattleite should in this situation, and go look at the pretty, summery pictures one more time that my friend Sue posted today!
